Fossil mammoth fossil tusk piece. 2.8 pounds. 17 inches long x 6 x not uniform ½ to 1 inch thick. Good for display – outside polished. Could be cut up for gun grips knife handles etc. Slight delamination here and there, not critical for display, but might need restore work (see my videos on you tube link) if used for a project.
This is from the Tanana River interior Alaska about 30,000 years ago, during last ice age. Area carbon dated.
