About my custom guards / pommels
I carve the originals, make a mold, and do my own lost wax casting. Metals are recycled. Bronze is from barge propellers that went up and down the Yukon River. Copper is old Nenana 1920's water pipes. My themes are all outdoor, usually wildlife. If people, they are primitive, I can offer discounts in quantity. I prefer not to do special orders.
I began to make my own, now offering them to other knife makers. I try to make them easy to use, with flat backs that can be trimmed to fit handle material. Some guards have a hole for hidden tang, other styles have a slot for scale type. The metal will shape about like wood will, no special tools needed beyond what is used on handle material.
I do limited edition cast runs. No more than 100 can be made from a mold so I begin again with a new design. I have a hundred moulds and designs, so what I have on hand at any given time can vary. Email and ask what I have if interested. I tend to use up what I make, have low runs with lots of 'custom' that can be made from scratch and offer in 3 days so

Some knife stands I have made Most ate custom made to match the knife but make some more universal stands and some customers do not want my stand need a sheath want it different then my vision so offer a way to have one of my stands you can order. I tend towards raw materials I find, either fossils or wood I get along the rivers. I do not mass produce. I design make one of a kind stands. I do sometimes seek used stuff I think could be repurposed or altered and be a cool stand, a carving, piece of pottery etc. Something switch character or energy that speaks to me that can mix with art and knives I offer. Necklace art stands I like big crystals, shells, used items with faces, some I make, some I alter, some need to be set on a wood base.
