Feb 2026
Tucson fossil gem show
just ended. Lots of venders and customers, good atmosphere. Seems like we all did well. I sold 1,500 pounds of mammoth ivory. I did highgrade 500 pounds of the best for internet selling later. All my knives, 50, sold to one customer before we even opened. I acquired a lot of sliced meteorite, some I may offer here or just make knife blades. I got maybe 100 honker opals. I am not expecting a market here on the site for raw, so hope to be in an  opal mood in my art! I usually aquire amber, Dino bone, other materials for art but not this year. I got artifacts for handles on knives, damaged Eskimo artifacts in the 2,000 year old range. The results of the show should start showing up here on the site. For now, packed in totes to head back to Alaska. So may not get to the material till April. If you have questions or interest Email me. I have nice solid tusk sections but want to utilize the outer bark (some blue) off the outside. I have a ban saw here in Tucson snowbird home.  PS in early April Headed back to Alasia been record cold record snow. I have about 300 pounds of new material to bring to Alaska.

More Information
Motley Crue,  I had a good Japanese friend Kenji, who met me at the
Tanana fair each year as a reliable time and place I met a lot of people who collected my art. I moved this meeting to the big Tucson fossil gem show. Kenji and a few others would come from overseas, mostly to meet with me. Kenji was a jet setter who knew a lot of people.
One meeting he tells me he knows the Motley Crue, and would be at their concert, wanted to give his friend Nixx a special gift.
"Wild Miles, I  want you to pick it out."  I chose a huge Kodiak rare grizzly claw pendant I made. kenji says, "You are  a shaman with the ability to connect people to land elements, it's one reason I buy from you." He was right, later telling me Nixx is in awe of the necklace and wears it often, as a perfect choice.  No Nixx and I never personally met, I do not travel much for one thing. Kenji invited me, but I have chosen a lifestyle that asks for isolation. Not 'shy' more like committed to a purpose.

I also have connections in the art-music world with Mic Jaggar of the Rolling stones, and John Lennon from the Beatles.
