Odd weather this summer had my fossil hunting trips delayed. But getting a lot of art and custom knives made in the shop. New folders getting made. I have a a lot of scrap fossil mammoth ivory for smaller projects to order by the pound. New tusk dips for displays. Lots of scrap bone for displays. This is the update on business. I'll be at the Tucson show again, Das in room 277 by the pool. Beat deals hundreds of pounds of material art, my books to look over.
Garden grows slow but beets doing best for some reason. Will have a lot of pickled beets. I grow all my own food ,hunt wild game and fish for my meat. If times get harder I have 'survival skills,' I hope to count on but how much can get done at 75? Hmmm. I have 4 new books a new series done, waiting on my publisher to get them out in print. Hope all is well with all of you!

Motley Crue, I had a good Japanese friend Kenji, who met me at the
Tanana fair each year as a reliable time and place I met a lot of people who collected my art. I moved this meeting to the big Tucson fossil gem show. Kenji and a few others would come from overseas, mostly to meet with me. Kenji was a jet setter who knew a lot of people. One meeting he tells me he knows the Motley Crue, and would be at their concert, wanted to give his friend Nixx a special gift. "Wild Miles, I want you to pick it out." I chose a huge Kodiak rare grizzly claw pendant I made. kenji says, "You are a shaman with the ability to connect people to land elements, it's one reason I buy from you." He was right, later telling me Nixx is in awe of the necklace and wears it often, as a perfect choice. No Nixx and I never personally met, I do not travel much for one thing. Kenji invited me, but I have chosen a lifestyle that asks for isolation. Not 'shy' more like committed to a purpose. I also have connections in the art-music world with Mic Jaggar of the Rolling stones, and John Lennon from the Beatles. |
