Fossil mammoth tooth slice set 1.8 ounces
Mammoth tooth slice set for knife scales or art. 3 inches long x a tapered 1.5 at bottom x 1 inch at top x ¼ inch thick minimum (thickness varies by a tad) Dyed and stabilized has some gorgeous colors and patterns. Due to the nature of mammoth teeth this set came out tapered as ‘how it wanted to be’ I could square up, but this is such nice material you may have use for your scraps- inlays, rings, sold to others etc. This material might be nice for pendants cut into cabs etc., not just knife scales (which tends to be my biggest market) Mammoth tooth tends to be brittle fragile, so if working it if it were me, I’d back it with something to make sure it stays together. Diamond rock tools are nice, but not absolutely necessary. A regular bandsaw works, just wears out the blade fast. Good news is a nice very high end product when it comes out! This is # 1 quality. Oh- from interior of Alaska if you want to know from where. Material I found myself . I have video on finding and some how to on working look for the links on my homepage.
