Ice age fossil mammoth ivory tusk display 2 pounds. 17 x 3 x 1 inches. Visually a lot or area to see for the weight. It's half a tusk (backside missing) You can see the growth rings and inside layers on the back Has nice hard enamel no cracks good colors. Solid. Someone cold get this to cut up for knife scales, nice alligator pattern good darn deep tans. I hope it's a display as it lays nice has a good look to it in a stand. Found on the Kantishna river which drains the back side of Denali. No rods this side, it's 800 miles round trip from nearest road to get to this melting permafrost tundra area. It takes a specialty boat and knowledge just to get here. I saw only one inch of this sticking out of the mud! If this was round it would be $1,000 so 'visually' you see just as much for less then half the price. I like the 'open back' to see the growth rings!
