Mammoth ivory - small pieces bulk
Mammoth ivory by the ounce, my pick for best price. In truth there are 36 flavors so to speak. How many choices should I offer? I picked some normal needs out to offer. choose from 'options' below. Selling by the weight instead of the piece. Keeping it simple all these choices are for an ounce. Tumble polished ready to use I offer to those making pendants or shops to resell to others - this is wholesale prices. (Ask for a better deal by the pound) Ok.. so the dark pendant size pic one, far left. choice is for those who like 'color' mostly valued blues greens etc. Put a bail or screw eye on, add a chain and these retail as high as $75 each. But could be used for inlay, carving etc. Sold by weight I do hand pick but not going to spend half an hour, just the best I can. See pictures, about 4-6 pieces. Texture ounce. Pic 2 from left is for those who like character, odd shape interesting surface. White pic 3 from left-is for those looking for scrimshaw pieces, or just want white. These are ready to scrim, turn into jewelry for a good mark up. Small rough pic 4 from left is the pendant size not polished at half the price. Saw marks there still etc. You can sand hem yourself or carve etc.
small rough tiny last pic on right- do inlay etc. small rough is as low price as it gets. My scraps- pea size- maybe dime size or longish slivers good for rings, earrings, small inlay or add to resin. Not really jewelry grade, makes good 'samples' Cost you like $ 25 cents each. Shops often put these in bowl and retail for $1 each.
I sell all these choices in bulk to gift shops who often put them in a bowl with a price. Also craft people who want a selection at an affordable price to resell as art. or musical instrument makers who need accents. Gifts not costing a lot to fossil lovers.
If you add a note on the purchase page in pay pal it can help me pick your items out. Such as "Using for earrings- or pendants' "Like them flat' 'doing inlay' want thick- I carve, etc. This helps me go through my 100 pound tote. Oh... I figured out how to 'mass polish' scraps. There are secrets ,few know how. So.... I can now polish hmmm 50 at a time and want a market more then selling 1 at a time. I sell some of this as low as $20 a pound (not an ounce, so 1/16th the price.) For those interested in 50 -100 pounds. ($1,000) Best meet me in Tucson at the fossil show, but inquire. This 'by the ounce' my choice is about 1/3 of selling by the individual item. So nice option for those needing more than a few pieces.
