My biggest market is the knife makers. I have been getting ahead on inventory offered on my web site. Now is a good time to take a look at fossil mammoth ivory.

Is the focus these days on reading?  Or is it video and audio? In my, ‘wonder why,’ I have been exploring reading my books! A new powerful apple laptop with garage band allows me to create huge files, not possible just a couple of years ago. Or has it just got more affordable?  I tried years ago and there were simply to many obstacles!

,New bird new bird! I forgot. Looked it up, a Orange Breasted Nuthatcher. Not known to come to the interior of Alaska often. I read how this bird comes north if there are forest fires or loss of their  conifer forests they depend on further south. I see more then one for over. Month and most birds have left to go south so the implication is this will be a winger bird. Seems to hang around with and get along with chickadees similar size. update Oct 15th 21 I created a YouTube  Nuthatcher

Fossil ivory- can it be worked wet?

I got asked this question on my YouTube about working fossils:
Don't get it wet? Why? People boil horn to shape it. Same collagen base. What's the difference?
REPLY

I am not a scientist  so 'why,' would be an opinion. I do know horn and ivory is not in fact the same material.  You could do your own experiments and get it wet, then wonder why it cracked and warped. Or simply believe me.

Tucson fossil gem mineral show

This is reputed to be the biggest show in the world. 70,000 venders and a million customers come from all over the world. I've been attending for over 20 years. Yes the show is on for 2022, and I will be in my usual spot in the Days Inn, on 1-10 at St. Mary's in room 127. Jan 28th -Feb 12th. 2022I have a 400 pound mammoth skull with matching tusk as simply something cool to see. have not decided on a price yet, I still have to clean it up.

Keep in mind attending is a good way to have a business write off if you acquire inventory. This is a way to pick out material and art in person, especially if you own a gift shop, or need raw materials like a custom knife maker. I do sell wholesale. I usually have over 100 pounds of fossil mammoth ivory at the show and way more then I could ever list on the web site. At lower prices. Email me if you hope to attend and I can give my cell number for an appointment and latest update. It's a fast pace adrenalin rush. I general make a years wages in a week,
